Štěpán Beránek graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He gained his experience during the scholarship in Middlesex University in London. He does his own sculpture work, collaborates with architects and often concentrates on spatial design. His sculpture works inspired by nature convey graceful organic shapes.
Q: What was the ultimate breakthrough moment in your career?
A: I think that the breakthrough moment comes every time I finish my latest work.
Q: Do you think artists have to suffer?
A: Artists definitely do not have to suffer; it is, however, a big advantage to experience something so strong that it needs to get out, whether it is joy or suffering.
A: People should collect the kind of art that somehow enriches their personal life and contributes something to their state of mind, and that of the society.Hopefully, these are also the reasons why people collect my art.
